In Mould Decoration (IMD)

In Mould Decoration (IMD)

A black framework around the display - without printing? No problem with In-Mould-Decoration.

By means of injection moulding, pigments are transferred from foil onto the part providing split-second decoration.

In Mould Labelling (IML)

Overview

In-Mould-Labelling (IML) introduces high quality decoration to plastic components.

In the first step a freely chosen motif is screen printed onto
the foil, which is then formed according to the given dimensions
using a high-pressure process (Step 2). The then laser cut or stamped pre-form (Step 3) is back moulded during
an injection moulding process (Step 4).

Through the combination of foil and printing a multitude of design options or qualities are made possible e.g. scratch resistance, depth effect, piano varnish appearance etc.
